"Every now and then it’s nice to have a day away from the office to surround oneself by like minded enthusiastic and empowering females in business...
I recently attended the social media fest in Dublin organised by the Tweeting Goddess herself, Samantha Kelly. This was my first time to meet Samantha in person although I have been following her energetic posts on Twitter for over 15 years. I’m involved in the Marketing and Public Relations for our family hotel business, the 4* Abbey Hotel Conference & Leisure Centre in Roscommon.
I, like many others involved in the ever fast changing digital media world find it challenging to keep abreast of the evolving trends and the struggle to stay relevant amongst a sea of competitors. At the Social Media Fest I had the opportunity to meet such a vibrant and inspiring group of female entrepreneurs and business women from all over the country.
All the speakers represented a diverse range of business backgrounds, their own vulnerabilities and struggles were shared, and each had such an interesting story to tell. All the speakers were so willing to empower us all with their nuggets of wisdom on their individual paths to success. It’s rare to find a network where there is no competition, no rivalry but just oodles of good will and an organiser who genuinely wants to inspire, support and empower all the attendees. I’m glad I went and I wish there was more time in my busy schedule to attend more events like these in the Irish Midlands.
Samantha you gotta fix a date to come to Roscommon!

“Hi Sam, I just wanted to congratulate you on organizing the social media fest on Wednesday...
I found the day so invigorating. The speakers were exceptional and the pace at which the program was arranged throughout the day made it all very interesting and full of buzz!
I even managed to get a gluten and lactose-free sandwich which didn’t make me ill afterwards!!!
All and all, it was a great event and I learnt so much. Congrats again and well done!
